Okay, so we’ve written blog after blog about renting a Tesla in Boston. We’ve told you about how fast they are, how safe they are, and how much fun they are to drive.
So, why would you be interested in an exotic car rental after being offered a Tesla, aka “America’s exotic”? Why are we catching you looking at our Porsche 911 Turbo? Here are the most common reasons people pick the Porsche, and a little bit more about our German wonder.
Maybe the Teslas Are All Rented
We have two Teslas for rent here in Boston, a Model X and a Model S. (We also have a Model 3 coming at the end of the year.) But they’re popular, and what if you’re flying into Boston on a weekend when they’re already both rented out? After all, people can rent our Tesla for a month or more, so you could be out of luck.
But…you’re not going to show up at that special meeting in a Hyundai Elantra. You need something that people will talk about, and maybe that’s our Porsche 911 Turbo S X50. (If that’s out, how about another exotic car rental, our BMW 18?)
Maybe You’ve Always Want to Drive a Super-Porsche
We all have our favorite brand of fast cars, the ones that we grew up seeing in movies and drooling over. Some of us went the Ferrari route thanks to Magnum P.I. and Miami Vice. Others grew up loving the Trans Am brand because of Smokey and the Bandit or Hooper. James Bond fans love their Aston Martins (and, to bring it back to Teslas and the frames they’re build on, the Lotus).
So when it comes to Porsche, maybe you got enamored back in the days of Risky Business, or maybe Cannonball Run before that. If Porsche is your brand, then our Porsche 911 Turbo rental is an excellent option when you’re looking to rent an exotic. The 911 has been around for a long time (since 1963, in fact), but few of them has been as souped-up as our S X50.
Speaking of which, let’s talk about the specs a little bit. First of all, a standard X50 package gets you to 444 horsepower… but this isn’t a standard package! We’re car people, and we like things that are tweaked; this 911 tops out closer to 600 horsepower. Our 911 is a six-speed manual, and that’s the way it should be. While some 911s have had automatic transmissions, that just doesn’t seem right to us. To top it off you also get to ride around with these cool features: HRE wheels, racing-tuned exhaust system, stage 2.5 performance package, and a stage 2 clutch. When you’re not enjoying the sound of the engine, you can turn up the Bose sound system.
Not everyone’s stopping by for Tesla rental, and we’re more than happy to make that up to them with this amazing supercar. Click here to head over to the rental page for our Porsche 911.
